Brodie Oaks, a 38-acre site located on the edge of the Barton Creek Greenbelt overlooking downtown Austin, has been a community shopping center for many years. With the recent growth in Austin and the shifts in the demand of retail space, the land owners are interested in redeveloping the area to a mixed-use center. Lionheart led the Master Plan process for the site. The final site plan emphasized the views of downtown, ample connections to the greenbelt by removing a retaining wall which previously separated the development from nature and connecting to South Austin’s eclectic style.

Lionheart has continued to support implementation by leading the Development Assessment and PUD Submission process. The PUD process has required ample stakeholder engagement with the various neighborhood groups and environmental groups because of its location in the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone, the City of Austin and TxDOT among others.

The vision includes three miles of sidewalks, cycle tracks, and shared use paths linking the vibrant hub to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, connecting parks and fostering interaction with nature.
